Pakistan's young seamer Umar Gul said Wednesday he hoped to get a one-month stint with English county Glamorgan.

The 22-year-old Gul said he would play for the club if the deal is negotiated successfully and he gets the home board's clearance.
"I have been approached by Glamorgan for this season and if I get permission from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) then I would be delighted to play in the English season," Gul told AFP from his hometown Peshawar.
Gul burst onto the scene two years ago with a five wicket haul against India, which helped Pakistan beat their arch rivals in Lahore.
Back trouble sidelined him for 18 months, then he lost his place to emerging fast bowler Mohammed Asif.
"I spoke to (Pakistan's English coach Bob Woolmer) who has suggested that I play for one month for the county and join the Pakistan team if I am required for the England tour," Gul said.
Pakistan tour England between June and September for four Tests and five one-day games. A preliminary squad is due to be announced late Wednesday.
Asif, fast bowler Naved-ul-Hasan and leg-spinner Mushtaq Ahmed are also playing in the English county season.(Article: Copyright © 2006 AFP)
