Player: | Farhad Reza |
DateLine: 19th February 2007
Very much a new kid on the block Farhad Reza is an attacking middle-order batsman who bowls useful medium-pace. After scoring most runs in the previous seasons domestic league he was drafted into the national squad for the tour of Zimbabwe in July 2006. There was always a feeling that Reza was talented and he proved this in the second ODI by becoming the first Bangladeshi to score a fifty - off 57 balls - on debut. Not one to rest on his laurels the ambitious youngster continued his good form on the tour of Kenya that followed. He steered Bangladesh to victory in the first and third ODIs. Much is expected from this 20-year-old all rounder and the Champions Trophy could well provide the avenue for him to break into the big league in a major way.
