On a blistering summer morning in front of a crowd of more than 15000, India's Pravin Amre turned the clock back to score a splendid hundred but it was not enough to stop the Pakistan Seniors from winning the second Seniors one-day international at Kozhikode (Calicut) by four wickets.

With this win, Pakistan also clinched the three-match series by winning the first two matches. Pakistan had earlier won the first match at Udaipur by an identical margin of 4 wickets.
Abdul Qadir again won the toss and invited India to bat. India Seniors scored 292 for 6 in the stipulated 40 overs which at first seemed out of reach for the Pakistan Seniors due to the bounce and turn provided to the spinners.
Amre hammered the Pakistani bowlers and scored 126 runs from 85 balls, hitting 12 fours and 5 sixes. The fourth wicket stand of 131 runs between Amre and Robin Singh (48) helped with gritty knocks from Manoj Prabhakar (39), skipper Mohammad Azharuddin (28) and Sameer Dighe (25) eased the home side to a mammoth total.
Abdul Qadir took two wickets for 76 runs. Pakistani Seniors batting second, set the field ablaze with an impressive 98-run opening partnership between Azam Khan (45 in 36 balls) and Ghulam Ali (57 in 36 balls) in only 10 overs.
Later Ijaz Ahmed (83 off 67 balls) and Mansoor Akhtar (69 off 68 balls) mesmerised the Indian bowling attack by hitting ruthlessly and steered Pakistan to victory.
Narinder Hirwani took 3 for 68.
Parvin Amre was declared Man of the Match.
After the series victory, the officials of Pakistan Seniors Cricket Board announced a reward of Rs. 300,000 to the Pakistani players.
Because of security concerns the third one-dayer scheduled to be played at Meerut on 27 February has been hifted to Feroz Shah Kotla Ground in New Dehli.
