A loose-jointed fast bowler with a natural outswinger, Vijaykumar Yo Mahesh caught the attention of batsmen on the domestic circuit with his ability to occasionally generate extra bounce. Apart from his bowling, he is a useful batsman lower down the order and athletic in the field. A good performance on India A's tour of Zimbabwe and Kenya in 2007 found him a spot on the team for the home series against South Africa A.
