| Biography: | Teacher in Physical Education at the Convent of Sacred Heart Grammar School, Newcastle upon Tyne; lecturer at St Mary's College of Education, Newcastle upon Tyne, then at Wolverhampton College of Education. She married Fergus Montgomery MP in 1971. He was later knighted and she became known as Lady Joyce Montgomery. She was High Sheriff of the County of Greater Manchester in 2001-2002 and County President of St John Ambulance in 2002-2005. |
