The Pakistan Eaglets arrived at Hornsey to find the ground prepared and two umpires arrived from Lord's, but no opposition. The Lancashire Secretary had arranged for the Eaglets to take over the fixtures originally arranged for the touring India side which had been cancelled. He had assumed that the MCC would be responsible for organising the Public Schools side. The MCC said there had been a complete misunderstanding.
