Bloomfield Cricket and Athletic Club returned to Colombo after the 2nd day because of the curfew following the election. The tournament committee did not accept this as the curfew was not in force in Kurunegala. Bloomfield Cricket and Athletic Club were fined maximum points (18) and their captain was suspended for two matches. The 3rd day was then postponed until 2 January.
