Three days of torrential rain including on the first scheduled day prevented any play on that first day
The wet ground meant the start of the match was delayed until 11.45am on the second day at which time not all the Wellington Town players had arrived to take the field due to doubt that the match would start at all so two Country players fielded as substitutes during the first session with the full Wellington Town team taking the field after the lunch break
