The match was drawn, after Hertfordshire had been set a target of 221 runs to win in two and a quarter hours. In the Berkshire second innings, Collins and Ingram put on an undefeated 143 runs for the fifth wicket. It was the highest fifth wicket partnership of the season, and a new record for the competition. Debutant Ingram top-scored for Berkshire with 89 not out, and Collins scored 60 not out.
