This drawn return match was heavily interfered with by the rain. The outcome was a setback to Buckinghamshire's drive to win the Championship, as the draw meant the county would need to win their last two matches to win the competition outright. On the first day, rain prevented play between lunch and 5.40 pm and, on the second day heavy rain at midday made the pitch unplayable and the decision was taken to cut a new wicket on which play was resumed in the afternoon. Barker took all 6 wickets that fell in the visitors' innings. When the two teams met at Aylesbury earlier in the month, the game had been won by Buckinghamshire.
