Cambridgeshire won this return game by 50 runs at 5.00 pm on the second day. Bedfordshire had been set a victory target of 186 runs in 3½ hours. The match between the two sides at Dunstable in July had been won by Bedfordshire. For the winners, Hayward took 10 wickets in the match for 108 runs. Hayward's 53 included 3 fours. For Bedfordshire, in their second innings, Brown and Parbury added 52 runs for the eighth wicket. Brown batted last in the Bedfordshire first innings as he was feeling unwell. The 61 overs bowled by Moss during the match were the second highest during the season. The match was for the benefit of the Cambridgeshire professional Bryan, who was reported as having been dropped from the team.
