Glamorgan won this close return match by one wicket at 4.25 pm on the second day. Rain prevented a start being made on the first day until after 3.00 pm. The wicket victory margin was the closest of the season. The game at Swansea in July had also been won by Glamorgan. For the winners, Creber took 10 wickets in the match for 81 runs, including 7 for 34 in the Berkshire second innings. Glamorgan in their second innings required 39 runs to win. Amid reported scenes of great excitement, they lost 8 wickets for 25 and 9 for 37 before Russell drove Hutson for 3 to secure the victory for Glamorgan. [An alternative version of this score based on Glamorgan sources has the Glamorgan second innings adding to 40 not 39, and extras 4 not 3.]
