Yorkshire 2nd XI won this return match by 167 runs on the second day. Surrey 2nd XI in their second innings needed 271 runs to win in 3 hours. The game between the two sides at Reigate in May had been drawn. For the winners, there was 1five and 9 fours in Wilkinson's 77, scored in 140 minutes, 1 six and 10 fours in Frank's 69, and 11 fours in Hey's 59. For the losers, debutant Nightingale's 70 contained 9 fours and Gooder's 51 included 9 fours. In the Yorkshire 2nd XI second innings, Gooder took 7 wickets for 68 runs. It is believed that Bale kept wicket for Surrey in the Yorkshire first innings and Stedman in the second.
