This card comes from the Minor Counties Research Project - research is continuing on this scorecard which can be expected to change.
Staffordshire won by an innings and 19 runs at 1.15 pm on the second day, after enforcing the follow-on. An hour of play was lost due to rain after lunch on the first day. For the winners, Barnes took 11 wickets in the match for 70 runs. There were 8 fours in Bourne's 58 not out. In the Staffordshire innings, Bourne and Mee added 62 runs for the eighth wicket. For Suffolk, C S Wilson and Raynor put on 54 for the last wicket in the second innings. In the Staffordshire innings Hollowood damaged his finger when the score was 70 and did not bat or field again in the match. F H Wynne acted as substitute fielder and held two catches in the Suffolk second innings. [The Suffolk averages in the 1906 Wisden suggest that some of the overs bowled by Penfold were bowled by Goldsmith, but in the absence of any evidence to prove this, the Staffordshire scorebook version has been adopted.]
