The Northumberland second innings declaration left Bedfordshire 105 minutes to get 304 runs. Bedfordshire had won when the two teams met at Dunstable in June. For the home side, there were 15 fours and 6 fours respectively in Marshall's two innings of 89 and 61 not out, and 14 fours and 10 fours G Simpson's 82 and 55. A Simpson's 59 contained 2 sixes and 7 fours, and Gillespie's 53 included 7 fours. In the Northumberland first innings Gillespie and Marshall added 104 runs for the third wicket and Skinner and G Simpson 100 for the sixth.
