Wiltshire won this match, which was completed in a day on the Saturday, by 36 runs. The Wiltshire declaration had set Hertfordshire a second innings victory target of 96 runs in 85 minutes. Rain prevented any cricket on Friday and play was abandoned for the day at 3.00 pm. For the losers, Titchmarsh was the only batsman to score over 50, his 71 containing 9 fours. White took 9 wickets in the match for 94 runs. For the winners, Taunton top scored with 37.
In the Wiltshire second innings, Coleman left the field suffering from a severe headache after bowling just one over. Butterworth fielded as his substitute and caught Taunton.
