This match was drawn with Monmouthshire winning on first innings, after not enforcing the follow-on. In their second innings Wiltshire required 257 runs to win in 90 minutes. For the visitors, there were 20 fours in Silverlock's 131. Stratton scored 55 and E S Phillips 53. In the Monmouthshire first innings, Silverlock and Stratton put on 139 runs for the first wicket, which was the highest partnership for that wicket during the season, and Silverlock and E S Phillips 104 runs for the second. For the home side, there were 10 fours in Stevens's 68, scored in around an hour. Shortly after the resumption of play on the second day, with the continuation of the Wiltshire first innings, Snell received a severe blow on the arm from a ball bowled by Steeples and had to retire. He took no further part in the match, and A O Crew of the Trowbridge Club acted as substitute fielder in his place. The match aggregate of 970 runs was the third highest of the season. Luce's 5 catches in the Monmouthshire first innings were the most by a wicket-keeper in an innings during the season, and his 6 catches in the match and his 7 dismissals in the match were both the second most in the season. In the match two Wiltshire players reached career milestones. When he had scored 9 in the Wiltshire first innings, Taunton reached one thousand runs, and when he caught Diver in the Monmouthshire second innings, Smart made his one hundredth dismissal.
