This card comes from the Minor Counties Research Project - research is continuing on this scorecard which can be expected to change.
This rain-affected return match was drawn with Dorset winning on first innings and enforcing the follow-on. When the two sides met at Blandford the previous week, the game had been won by Dorset. For Dorset, there were 4 fours and 6 threes in Arundell's 109 not out, scored in over four hours, and 5 fours in Budge's 68. In the Dorset innings, Arundell and Budge had an opening partnership of 121 runs, and Arundell and Udal added [over 50] for the eighth wicket. For Cornwall, Rogers top scored with 38 not out. On the first day rain prevented play between luncheon and 4.30 pm and on the second between 12 noon and 3.00 pm. On the Monday, shortly after the restart of the Dorset innings at 4.30 pm, Trevarthen fell when bowling and badly sprained himself. He took no further part in the match and H S Prideaux acted as substitute fielder.
[Missing: Ground; ground location; umpires; extras breakdown; part fall of wickets; in Dorset innings duration and twos in Arundell's 109 not out; and size of eighth wicket partnership.]
