Norfolk won this return match by an innings and 32 runs at 6.00 pm on the second day. The Norfolk declaration required Oxfordshire to bat for 2½ hours to save the match. The match between the two sides at Norwich the week before had also been won by Norfolk. For the winners, there were 14 fours in Barrett's 96, 13 fours in Raikes's 84, 4 fours in Dunning's 57 and 9 fours in Charles's 54, scored in just 20 minutes. In the Norfolk innings, Dunning and Raikes added 132 runs for the third wicket, Barrett and Birkbeck 106 runs for the sixth wicket, and Birkbeck and Charles 60 for the seventh wicket. For Oxfordshire, Dickinson's 116 contained 15 fours and 6 threes. Raikes took 6 catches in the match.
