Durham won by 268 runs on the second day. For the winners, there were 19 fours, 4 threes and 6 twos in Elliot's 132 not out scored in 2½ hours. His 79 included 2 sixes and 11 fours, Adamson's 56 1 six and 7 fours and Coulson's 51 6 fours. In the Durham second innings, Elliot and Coulson added 130 for the fourth wicket. Adamson retired temporarily at the start of the Durham first innings with a damaged knee when only 2 runs had been scored, but returned to bat at the fall of the first wicket. Robinson wrenched a leg muscle when fielding and did not bat in the Yorkshire 2nd XI second innings. The match receipts of £110 for the two days were a record for the ground.
