For the winners, there were 9 fours in Stratton's 73, Hollowood scored 72, Fereday 66 and there were 6 fours in Briggs's 63. In the Northumberland first innings Skinner scored 58. In the Northumberland second innings resuming at 70-5, Barnes took the last 5 wickets for 7 runs. On the first morning Veitch injured his right arm and was unable to bowl after lunch.
