Bedfordshire won this match on the second day. Needing 133 runs for victory in their second innings in 100 minutes, the home team scored the winning run with 7 wickets down and 4 minutes to spare. For the winners, there were 10 fours in Peel's 109. Orr scored 95, and Wharmby scored 69 not out. In the Bedfordshire first innings, Peel and Orr added 184 for the fourth wicket and Wharmby and Apthorp 58 for the eighth wicket. Morcom took 10 wickets in the match for 201 runs. For the losers, B W Pigg scored 86, Watts 61 not out, and Coulson 57. In the Cambridgeshire second innings, Coulson and B W Pigg put on 127 for the eighth wicket. The match was Pollitt's benefit.
