Match drawn with Dorset winning on first innings. There was surprise that the Dorset Captain did not enforce the follow-on. The match was played in overcast conditions, and there were two rain interruptions on the second day during the Dorset second innings during which Hodges and Zealley added 52 runs for the ninth wicket. Rain settled in after the Dorset declaration at 4.55pm and Devon did not commence their second innings. The match was abandoned at 5.30 pm. For the visitors, there were 13 fours, 4 threes and 11 twos in Arundell's 113. Sewell's 92 contained 9 fours. In the first innings these two added 148 for the fourth wicket. Light's 71 for Devon included 1 six and 11 fours.
[Missing: Umpires; In Dorest first innings duration of Arundell's 113.]
