Bedfordshire won this return match by an innings and 60 runs on the second day, with under quarter of an hour to spare after enforcing the follow-on. Bedfordshire had also won the match between the two sides at Luton earlier in the month. For the winners, King scored 119 not out, Thring 94, which included 7 fours, and Orr 50. In the Bedfordshire innings, Thring and King put on 69 runs for the seventh wicket, and King and Morcom added 94 for the tenth. For the losers, Thomas scored 57 and Tebbutt 54. Two rain showers interrupted play on the afternoon of the first day, and a short shower interfered with play on the second day when Cambridgeshire had lost four wickets in their second innings.
[Missing: Umpires; in Bedfordshire innings extras breakdown, duration and breakdown of King's 119 not out and boundaries in Orr's 50; in Cambridgeshire first innings boundaries in Thomas's 57 and Tebbutt's 54; in Cambridgeshire second innings fall of sixth wicket; precise time completed.]
