On the first day rain delayed the start until 2.45 pm. The declaration by Cornwall left the home side a victory target of 296 runs with 2 hours to play. For the visitors, Coad scored 140 not out, H Tresawna 81 and J C Bickford-Smith's 53 included 11 fours. In the Cornwall second innings H Tresawna and Coad put on 224 for the first wicket.
