Staffordshire won this semi-final match by 229 runs at 4.45 pm on the second day with a day to spare. For the winners, Bucknell and Barnes bowled unchanged through both Hertfordshire innings taking 11 wickets for 46 runs and 9 for 25 runs respectively. There were 7 fours in Winser's 53. The Hertfordshire first innings total of 41 was the equal second lowest of the season. Newspaper reports indicate the visitors, who were reputed to be a strong batting side, had the worst of the wicket, but they were unable to muster 100 runs in the match. Rain delayed the start on both days half an hour on the first day and an hour and 10 minutes on the second.
