This low-scoring match, completed in a day, was won by Surrey 2nd XI by an innings and 9 runs on the Saturday. Rain prevented any cricket on the first day. For the winners Platt took 10 wickets in the match for 63 runs and Blacklidge 9 for 36, including 4 wickets for no runs in the Buckinghamshire first innings. Blacklidge also top-scored with 54. For Buckinghamshire Boddy scored 52. Press reports indicate Surrey had much the better of a rain-affected wicket.
