This rain-affected match was drawn with Bedfordshire winning on first innings. No play took place on the first day though newspaper reports indicate that the match could have started at around 3.30 pm, but the Bedfordshire captain Orr had allowed several of his players to go home shortly after noon when it looked as if any prospect of play was out of the question. Lincolnshire were put in to bat by Bedfordshire. For Bedfordshire, King scored 57. Williams top-scored for Lincolnshire with 45. Holmes-Brown was not at the ground when the match started, and Waite was caught by the substitute fielder.
