Cornwall won this return match by 345 runs at 5.05 pm on the second day, after declaring and setting the home side a victory target of 456 runs in 3½ hours. The match between the two sides at Truro in July had been won by Monmouthshire. For the winners, there were 11 fours and 7 fours respectively in W S Tresawna's two innings of 76 and 84. Trevarthen's 88 included 12 fours and H Tresawna scores 65. In the Cornwall second innings, the Tresawna brothers put on 108 runs for the second wicket. Williams top-scored for Monmouthshire with 35. In the Cornwall second innings Geen took over as wicket-keeper when Diver bowled.
