Yorkshire 2nd XI won by an innings and 18 runs after Durham followed on 176 runs behind on first innings. One and a half hours of play was all that was needed by Yorkshire to finish the match. For the winners, the slow left arm bowler Harrison took 12 wickets in the match for 121 runs, including 7 for 73 in the Durham second innings. There were 9 fours in Turner's 89 and 6 fours in Bates's 64. In the Yorkshire innings, Bates and Turner added 138 runs for the third wicket. For Durham, Morris took 7 wickets for 100 runs in the Yorkshire innings. C Brooks top-scored with 43 which included 4 fours.
