Lincolnshire won this return match by four wickets shortly before 1.30 pm on the second day. Lincolnshire had also won the match between the two sides at Spalding in July. For the winners, Day took 11 wickets in he match for 77 runs, including 7 for 24 in the Cambridgeshire second innings. Brooke top-scored with 34. For the losers, Coulson took 10 wickets in the match for 69 runs, including 7 for 33 in the home team's first innings. In the Cambridgeshire first innings, Bryan and G A Rose added 55 runs for the ninth wicket and G A Rose top-scored with 44. On the first day, the match started nearly half-an-hour late due to the late arrival of the visitors. On the first day rain interrupted play for 15 minutes during the Lincolnshire first innings when the score was 46 for 5 wickets. Heavy overnight rain caused the wicket to be soft on the second day. The four catches held by Worman in the Cambridgeshire first innings were the joint highest in the season for a fielder shared with four others. The three catches held by Allen in the Cambridgeshire second innings were the joint highest of the season for a wicket-keeper shared with five others including himself.
