Staffordshire won this match by 10 wickets at 22 minutes after lunch on the second day. For the winners Deyes took 7 wickets for 32 runs in the Cheshire first innings including 3 wickets in 4 balls in Cheshire's first innings (Horspool, Smith, and Turner). Hollowod was hit on the chest by Moorhouses. The losers, Cheshire, only had 10 men on the first day as Harrison was unwell and did not put in an appearance. He was however able to play on the second day. In addition Smoker received a severe blow inside the left knee from Deyes and was only able to bowl one over; Turner dislocated a finger, and Jones, the captain and wicketkeeper, also had his finger badly injured. In Cheshire's second innings play finished for the day at the fall of the third wicket with Smith 4 not out. However Smith arrived late on the second day so Travers and Rigby went to the wickets. He was allowed to resume his innings at the fall of the fourth wicket.
[Missing: In Cheshire second innings bowling order.]
