Durham won by an innings and 17 runs with 45 minutes to spare on the second day. A thunderstorm delayed the start of play on the first day until 2.35pm. Healey and Graham added 112 runs for Durham's sixth wicket; Healey's 50 contained 5 fours and Graham's 59 not out contained 10 fours. Morris took 11 wickets in the match for 71 runs, including 8 wickets for 29 in Cheshire's second innings which only lasted an hour annd a quarter. For the losers Wild top-scored in both innings, his 68 contained 9 fours.
