Monmouthshire won the match by seven wickets at 11.30 am on the second day. For the winners, W A Williams took 12 wickets in the match for 87 runs. Silverlock scored 67 not out and there were 10 fours in Hudden's 51. For Wiltshire Awdry top scored with 42. One newspaper reported that T Luce was due to bat at number 6 for Wiltshire but did not arrive. The innings closed at 47-9 with T Smart, J A Smart and F W Stancomb on the ground but not called upon. It seems that J A Smart subsequently took his place.
