Cornwall won this match by 153 runs at 3.30 pm on the second day. For the winners there were 3 sixes and 10 fours in Maunsell's 97 and 11 fours in Bickford-Smith's 72. Trevarthen took 9 wickets for 135 runs in the match, including 7 for 92 in the Kent first innings. Whiting also took 9 wickets in the match for 110 runs, including 6 for 36 in the Kent second innings. In the Cornwall first innings Romer and Maunsell added 167 for the seventh wicket, a record for the county. 83 runs were added for the seventh wicket in the second innings by J C Bickford-Smith and Vibart. For Kent Morfee's
