Staffordshire completely out-played Surrey 2nd XI to win the Final by 334 runs after an hour's play on the third day and thus became champions for the third time in six years. For Staffordshire B Meakin scored 133 in 3 hours which included 2 sixes and 19 fours and 50 not out; Nichols scored 61 which contained 10 fours. In the first Staffordshire innings B Meakin and Deyes added 51 for the last wicket. B Meakin and Vost added 116 runs for the seventh wicket in the second innings. Barnes took 10 wickets in the match for 73 runs including 6 for 43 in the Surrey second innings. Staffordshire did not enforce the follow-on and Surrey were set 462 in the fourth innings to win. For Surrey Knight was the top scorer with 39. Abel took 9 wickets in the match for 164 runs including 5 for 65 in the Staffordshire second innings.
