Notes
--> GW Birkbeck made his last appearance in Minor Counties Championship matches

This card comes from the Minor Counties Research Project - research is continuing on this scorecard which can be expected to change.
Norfolk ensured that they would finish at the top of the Championship table by recording their seventh straight victory. They won by nine wickets at 4.30 pm on the second day after enforcing the follow-on for the third time in the season. The match between the two sides at Norwich the week before had also been won by Norfolk. The weather was threatening on both days and overnight rain caused the start on the second day to be delayed until after noon. For the winners, Gibson took 12 wickets in the match for 68 runs including figures of 6 for 16 in Cambridgeshire's first innings and 6 for 52 in their second. Falcon top-scored with 45 which included 4 fours. For the losers, there were 4 fours in Watts's 47. Both Thurgar and Birkbeck took 4 catches in the match. When bowling the seventh over in the Cambridgeshire second innings Falconer twisted his foot and was forced to leave the field. He returned to the field later, but in his absence Collier acted as the substitute fielder.
