Cornwall won this match by 24 runs on the second day, the luncheon interval being delayed until Devon’s last wicket fell.
For the winners Tresawna scored 61; having opened the batting in Cornwall’s second innings he was the last man out.
He added 28 for the last wicket with Whiting, a partnership which proved crucial to Cornwall’s victory.
Whiting also took 13 wickets for 94 runs in the match, including 7 for 51 in Devon’s first innings and 6 for 43 in their second.
Vibart took 3 catches in the match.
For the losers Reed top scored with 36 whilst debutant Jennings was dismissed for a golden duck in his first innings for his county.
Sturt took 5 wickets for 39 runs in Cornwall’s first innings and Fishwick took 5 wickets for 35 runs in their second innings.
